31 Days of Blogtober ~ A wrap up!

Remember when I announced that I'm going to do "31 Days of Blogtober" this year. I failed so hard. I only got thirteen posts out there and I didn't really felt that motivated to exhaust myself with blogging every day.

『31 Days of Blogtober』Creatures of the Night Book Tag

Today I'll do the Creatures of the Night Book Tag which was originally created by katytastic over at youtube. That was a pretty hard task, since I didn't want to pick all the obvious choices. Hope I was able to pick a few not too popular book (series).

『31 Days of Blogtober』 - The Sleeper and the Spindle - Neil Gaiman

Plot: A thrillingly reimagined fairytale weaving together Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.
On the eve of her wedding, a young queen sets out to rescue the world from an enchantment. She casts aside her fine wedding clothes, takes her chain mail and her sword and follows her brave dwarf retainers into the tunnels under the mountain towards the sleeping kingdom.

Opinion: I didn't know what was expecting me when I started the book and I got positively surprised. Beautiful illustrations in metallic ink and a special way of weaving together two different fairytales in one retelling with a dark twist. I really liked the way of storytelling by Neil Gaiman in combination with the illustrations by Chris Riddell. The way both fairytales are well known but so different told in this short story. The unexpected twist at the end and the independent queen who's about to save the world turn this short story into one unique telling.

I personally loved that short story a lot and got especially surprised by the little twist at the end. I can't remember a Gaiman book I didn't love and this story adds another one to it. Not only is it beautiful to look at, the cover is stunning and the see through overlay makes it even more magical. Chris Riddell's illustrations underline the enchanted storytelling and add to your reading experience. This is a book which manages with just a few sentences a page and the matching beautiful illustrations.

You shouldn't go into this expecting a Disney Fairytale and super great character development, it's only a short story. Very well written in Neil Gaiman's typical dark twisted writing paired with Chris Riddell's beautiful inked illustrations.

A short fairytale retelling with it's own touch of darkness which reminds us of the original gruesomeness in fairytales.

Here are some creepy book recommendations. Nothing horror or super scary, just a bit creepy and exciting. I'll have a few I have only read in German and others only read in English. I'll do my best to explain what I thought was creepy about it.

『31 Days of Blogtober』Arctic Fox hair colour review

Today I'd like to talk about Arctic Fox Hair Color. I decided to go for this colour, since it's vegan and cruelty free and I tried a few other brands but they didn't stay as long in my hair as I liked.
Let's see what this hair colour has in it.

『31 Days of Blogtober』09/10/2016 - 09/12/2016 Tower of London, A great View & Harrod's

09/10/2016 Tower of London, The London Eye & Millennium Bridge

Started the day with looking for an internet cafe because I needed to print my online tickets. Found one near King's Cross. After that I made my way to the Tower of London and this time I visited it. I'm so glad I did it even though it was the coldest day of the week, windy and raining.

『31 Days of Blogtober』09/08/2016 - 09/09/2016 From Buckingham Palace to The Tower Bridge

09/08/2016 Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey & Houses of Parliament

I started the day early again and had planned to go see the Buckingham Palace. I arrived at Green Park and took a rout through it to get to the Palace. It was such a nice walk and I had luck with the weather. Finally there was a blue sky, nearly clear of clouds but quite windy and still warm.

『31 Days of Blogtober』09/07/2016 Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour London PART II

Outside of the atrium was a lot to discover again. The first thing I saw was the bust stop for the Knight Bus and the Knight Bus itself. So huge and in my favourite colour. So awesome to see it in person.
