The next day was the day of the concert. I decided to get up quite early, because I wanted to do some sightseeing. ^^ I got up around 7:00am. After I was dressed I stored everything in my luggage and took my handbag to leave for breakfast. I had some yummy muesli and some bread with vegetables.
Finally finished I went out and decided to walk to Neumarkt instead of taking the tram. I discovered a dm (drugstore) and had to go inside, because I forgot something at home, which I needed for my make up for the upcoming night. I went back to the subway station and bought a Cologne Card with which I was able to drive everywhere and to use it even the next morning.
main station |
My first stop was at the main station in Cologne. First because most tourist sights are around that area and second it's a main point for trains and subways.
Since I discovered that the only museum I wanted to visit was closed I didn't exactly know what to do and decided to first enjoy a bit of the morning sun and sat down in front of the Cologne Cathedral.
The Cathedral from the outside. Typical tourist pictures. ^^
And here are some form the inside. It's always so crowded there. I love this cathedral so much. It's so huge and beautiful and the only original gothic cathedral left (even when it's not fully gothic) in Germany.
I also love the stained glasses all around the Cathedral.
And the huge triptych is so beautiful and it's always so stunning to imagine how someone painted this.
I also spend 30 minutes sitting in the Cologne Cathedral and listening to the mass they held for midday. I decided on spot to attend it, because I didn't know what else I could do. XD"
After the mass was finished I also lit a candle for my grandma and left the Cathedral again. By this time I was freezing. I left through the backside of the Cathedral, there were a lot of tourists too.
At the backside I spotted a huge finial and after I read the description I learned that it's a model of the finials at the top of the Cologne Cathedral. One of the finials is 9.50m high and 4.60m wide, which is really impressing, because they look so small from the bottom.
After I took more pictures and even had to take group pictures of tourists ^^ I decided for a little bit of shopping. I strolled through one of the shopping streets and later discovered that it was Schildergasse, one of the famous shopping streets in Cologne.
I spotted a shop dedicated to 4711 the famous Cologne perfume. XD" I had to take a picture of it, even when I don't like it. It was placed just too right in the middle of a shopping street every tourist would go to.
While I walked around I also found WDR which is a German broadcaster. It's the one from the West Germans, WDR stands for West Deutscher Rundfunk which will be translated into something like West German Broadcaster.
I also went to some shops including Tally Weijl where I only bought a ring. One of these rings which has more links to it and moves when you move your finger. I love it, because it looks like a lot of little bones. It also was on sale.

NOTD |
I also took a picture of my nails in the nice sunlight. I had just something simple on them. Black with a lot of glitter.
After wandering around I also found the Hard Rock Café of Cologne and sure I had to take pictures of it. ^^ I loved that the door handle is a guitar.
Near the Hard Rock Café I also found an English Shop where they sell English food, sweets and beverages. Had to take a picture of it, because my parents went to London earlier this year.
After a break with some Pizza Hut pizza and some more sunshine in the middle of the shopping street I finally found what I was looking for. It was the Die Maus shop. I think every German child knows Die Sendung mit der Maus. I used to watch it when I was younger and I loved it. Directly translated it's something like "The show with the Mouse" and it's a cute show which shows some cartoons or other children shows and in between some little reports on different topics e.g. how to make a pencil.
This shop sells a lot of the famous characters from this show. I wanted to buy everything, because I love all of it so much and all the plushies are so cute. *^*
I mostly love the Maus (mouse) and Maulwurf (mole). In the end I bought two magnets and a cookie cutter. ^^
paper bag of Die Maus and the things I bought |
It says "Köln bei Nacht" which means "Cologne at night" and is just a black post card. XD"
Finally done with everything I made my way back to the hostel to change my outfit for the concert.
On my way back I finally took this picture. It shows the different public transport signs at one of the entries to the subway and it's just too funny how it says "HUGO". Every time I saw that I giggled like a little schoolgirl. XD"""
HUGO |
Finally back at the hostel I had to hurry. I decided for a quick shower and put on my make up and got dressed.
Since I already decided at home what I'll wear to the concert it was a quite easy task to get dressed. And this is what I wore. Just a simple black x white coordination with some rockish elements and studs. You also can see the ring I bought at Tally Weijl on the close up.
But since I decided to do a new full make up and I was back later as expected I had to hurry and was still late for the train. I also had to charge my phone again, because I was afraid it'll run out of battery on the way to the venue.
I also decided to look the way up beforehand and took some screenshots of it, because I looked it up on my iPod. I though this way I could save the battery of my iPhone.
Because I was late I looked the way up again while walking to the station and it said that I would be still on time. Everything went fine until I reached the subway. Everything was signposted but I couldn't find the right subway, because there was always a different direction given than the map showed me. I was so confused and just decided to take the next train. But because I was still confused and so unsure I decided to hopp off again. I should have stayed, because it was the right one. I learned that after I checke the map at the station. I took the next train and finally arrived at the destined station.
Then again, remember when I said I'm totally bad with directions. Right, I had screen capped the way on a map and was still unsure of it and couldn't find it, so I decided to let google maps direct the way for me. I was so happy that I charged my phone at the hostel, otherwise I would have been lost. The stupidest thing is, that the way wasn't difficult at all I was just at the wrong side of the street. XD""""
Finally in the right street I was confused again. Where the hell is this stupid club? WHERE???? Aaahh I was lost again. I couldn't spot it and there were no directions given and google maps showed me that I was already there. CONFUSING AS HELLl!!!!
But then I spotted a line of people dressed in black and decided to take the chance that this is the right way. And it was! I arrived around 6:50pm and everyone was still outside. I was confused again, but this time only because the concert was scheduled for 7:00pm and the entry didn't even start. But what was I expecting? XD"
the sign of the venue |
When I arrived and queued in line I finally discovered the sign which reads "Die Werkstatt", which is the name of the club, and I immediately knew why I wasn't able to spot it. It's so teeny tiny that you'll only be able to see it when you know where to look. >_>
While waiting to be led in I had to discover that I wasn't the last one to arrive and after a while there was a good amount of people behind me.
Around 7:00pm the entry suddenly began and nearly 15 minutes later I was inside. It was so funny at the entry, because we had to bring the PayPal receive as the ticket and they checked their computer for the names. The funny thing was that the girl at the entry didn't know how to pronounce my surname and was guessing around until I told her. She then wished me fun for the concert. Which was so nice of her.
Finally inside I got a bit confused again, because I couldn't find the merchandise and I wanted to spend some more money, not only because I knew there will be another signing session again. XP
I decided to look for it after the concert and I looked around where I could stand. I decided for a spot not right in the back but not too far in the front. I placed myself right next to the bar, which was quite convenient, because I was able to get some water immediately and to lean against the bar while the concert. I placed my stuff right next to it on the ground and everything was okay. I was still wondering where the merch could be and tweeted happily about it. XD"""
Suddenly the lights went out and some "strange" people entered the stage. Confusing as the day began it continued and I was suddenly unsure if I was in the right place. Well, I was because everywhere around me were people in heidi. t-shirts and other Japanese band shirts. Okay, I thought... I'm right.
Somehow Kanzen Music or whoever decided to squeeze in a support band, which I found quite annoying. For me it was only a terrible sound which luckily ended after ten minutes. At least everyone would be inside before heidi. start with their concert. XD"
After that we had to wait another thirty minutes until the lights went out again and this time the intro started and I knew I was right where I was. I was already feeling all the happiness again. *^*
This time they started with Hello!, but all in all the setlist was quite similar to the one in Berlin. Since I'm not 100% sure of what they played and I wasn't able to find a setlist for Cologne's concert I guessed it could have been the same as in Wroclaw.
So here is the might be setlist of the night:
- Hello!
- Yuuyake to Kodomo
- Gekkou Showtime
- Twilight Town
- Ori
- Another Fish
- Landscape
- Shinda Sekai
- Deep
- Rem
- Pray
- Mugen Loop
- Yokan
- Ryuusei Dive
- Omaesan
- Gliede en.
- Synchro
- Sentimental
- Utakata
a terrible sneaked snap shot XD |
Even when it's the same tour, nearly the same setlist and more newer than older songs it was a whole different experience. You would have said Berlin was good, but Cologne was a million times better. And that's not because I felt better that day, I was still not fully recovered and I walked around the whole day. I was dead tired and my feet hurt so much. But still I felt like singing and dancing around. This is something only heidi. was able to do to me. Or it was this super pumped up atmosphere.
The fans were singing along and dancing along like hell. It didn't feel like a small concert in a small club, it felt like it was one in a stadium and it was sold out. At least I felt that way.
It was so cute to observe all of them and discover how much fun they had. The Japanese fans and everyone else. Even heidi. seemed to have a lot of fun. And I would say they had A LOT of fun that night.
another sneaked and crappy picture |
When Kiri suddenly disappeared in the middle of the concert Yoshi tried to talk to us. First some random words then in English. Ahaha Just too cute his struggling to find the right words. In the end he only told us that his English isn't good at all with the words "little English". XD" And he made everyone introduce themselves in English. Which was quite funny, because Nao didn't really want to do it, but Yoshi insisted on it. XD" Kohsuke was quite willing to do it and it was understandable what he said. When Kiri was back on stage Yoshi insisted again that he also has to introduce himself in English. XD" Seriously they are just the cutest, mostly when they peak on their notes to get the words right. ^^
Later on, more at the end of the concert Kiri suddenly stood up from his drums and held a sheet of paper in his hands and Yoshi announced that Kiri has something to say with the words: "Kiri has some news." Kiri then read to us where the signing session would be. This was the cutest I ever saw and heard. >_< I had all the happy sparkles in my eyes, because of this sugar overload. ˚₊*(ˊॢo̶̶̷̤◡ुo̴̶̷̤ˋॢ)*₊˚⁎ He told us in a sugary Engrish that the signing session will be held downstairs and that there is the merchandise too. "After the concert we sign our goods. Downstairs." With this everything clicked together in my mind and I wondered why I wasn't thinking of that beforehand. I had to laugh at myself so much. XD"
I think it's because the whole day was such a strange day and I was always so confused that it didn't even came to my mind that it could be downstairs.
All in all this was such a great live I would never have been expected. I'm still so overly emotional when I thing of it. This concert made me even more realize why I love them so much. I still wished they would have played more older songs, just because I love the old ones the most, but I'm still so endlessly happy that I was finally able to see them live. Every time I'm listening to heidi. I feel all too happy and emotional because of this super gorgeous concert.
The only other concert that made me feel so pumped was the DIR EN GREY concert in Paris last year. I can't believe it that I'm comparing heidi. to DIR EN GREY but hell the concert was just one of the most amazing ones ever. I can't remember I ever saw such a small crowd go that wild. Most of the fans knew the steps to these special little dances to some of their songs and it felt like actually everyone was able to sing along. This made me so sooo happy!!! *^*
I also was so grateful that this time everyone was inside before the concert started and that everything went fine. Another thing I really liked is that no one really screamed this ugly fangirl screams. I was so glad that it was more of a normal way to be there.
After the last song, which was again Utakata and all of them finally left the stage I nearly ran downstairs, because I wanted to be at the merchandise as soon as possible. But while rushing down the stairs I spotted the one thing I hoped more to find than the merchandise. It was the toilet! XD" I HAD to go to the toilet immediately. After I was finally released of this I moved on to the merchandises and checked it out a second time. This time they prepared packages with which you could save some money. Because I already decided that I would only go with the poster I was sure of myself I wouldn't buy anything else, but this only lasted until I saw they had a Poster x Heizo or a Poster x Bobby package. *^* I decided I had to get the Poster x Bobby package but first I had to check my money. ;__; Luckily I had the right amount and bought it. ^o^ So happy that my little Heizo isn't alone anymore.
Heizo and Bobby dangling on my bag ^^ |
After I spent nearly all my money on some more merch I queued in line and started to touch up my make up. ^^
Since the signing session was held downstairs heidi. had to go down the stairs too and had to get through the line of fans to the spot they were placed to held the singing session. This time they arranged tables and chairs for them to have it more comfortable not like in Berlin squeezed in some corner around a table. XD"
I was quite at the end of the line, so I had to wait like an eternity to finally be next. The one before me wanted to get one of the shirts signed and it was so funny how Yoshi and the girl from the entry tried to stretch the shirt so Nao was able to sign it properly. The same with the rest of them, how they always helped each other to stretch the shirts.
I was finally next and first was Nao with a cute and happy smile on his face and a nice "Hi". I gave him the poster to sign and he did. After he was finished he automatically reached out his hand to me. This time I tried to speak louder and said a very thankful ありがとう. Next in line was Yoshihiko who was smiling as well and welcomed me with another friendly "Hi". After that we shook hands again and I said my ありがとうto him too. Third was Kohsuke and he was smiling as well. He seemed so happy there. Welcomed me with a "Hi" and signed his part of the poster. Even before I could realize it he was reaching over the table with both hands to put mine between them. O__O I was kinda shocked but still managed to say "Thank you" when he thanked me in English. Then I remembered and sad a quick ありがとう. Last but not least was the cutie pie Kiri. This time he sat at his chair and was smiling happily around. He also welcomed me with a smile and a "Hi" and happily singed his spot on the poster. After that we again shook hands and while he also thanked me I again squeezed out my thankful ありがとう and step aside.
I went back to a table so I could roll up my poster after letting it dry for a few minutes. I put everything together and waited until they left the room. While Nao, Yoshi and Kiri were already on their way, Kohsuke was hanging back and all of them suddenly stopped in the middle of the room to wait for him. XD They then reached the stairs and went up again. I was right behind them, following Kohsuke upstairs. XD" But instead of turning left I turned right and went outside. There I organized my stuff a second time and decided to leave and to look for something to eat.
Luckily the way back to the station was easy this time and I didn't need any help from google maps. XD" I also remembered that I saw a Burger King around there and decided to get some fries and chili cheese nuggets. I also needed something to drink and went with a tropical mango smoothie.
I sat down for having my meal and tweeted a bit. XD Left you can see a tired princess while having something to eat. ^^"
After I finished my meal I head down to the subway and made my way back to the hostel. I finally arrived there around midnight. I was dead tired but still decided for a quick shower, to skype a little with Riki and to start packing up my stuff. After that was finished I fell asleep immediately.
Stay tuned for the 3rd and final part. ^^
