『31 Days of Blogtober』Arctic Fox hair colour review

Today I'd like to talk about Arctic Fox Hair Color. I decided to go for this colour, since it's vegan and cruelty free and I tried a few other brands but they didn't stay as long in my hair as I liked.
Let's see what this hair colour has in it.

What is Arctic Fox

Product description: Poison is a rich red with no influence of other colours. If you bleach you're hair you can get a super bright read, if not bleached it's more toned down depends on your natural hair colour. The darker it is the less red you'll get but nice red reflexes in the light or sun.

Sizes & price: 4fl oz 7.99$ | 8fl oz 13.99$

Product description: Wrath is a rich red with a pink undertone. It's more cool than Poison but still more on the warmer side than a real bright pink. With pre-bleached hair you can get a really nice red colour with a cool undertone to it. The darker your hair is beforehand the lesser the colour comes out, but still adds really nice reflexes in the light or sun.

How I achieved my current hair colour

I wanted to change my hair colour back in may and first I used a dark red from the drugstore to dye over the remaining dark brown and purple I had for over two years. It turned out quite dark with red reflexes in the sun.

How my hair looked before Arctic Fox

I wanted to go for a dark red to bright red gradient. For that I had to bleach the end of my hair again. It already had a bit of bleached ends left from my purple beforehand but I wanted more bright red in my hair.

After bleaching the ends. Already a nice gradient.

I used Poison for the top of my hair to get more intensive light reflexes and used Wrath just for the tips of my ends. In the middle I mixed both colours for a better blending. I let the hair dye stay in for over two hours to make sure it gets nice and bright.
Before putting on the dye I washed my hair and did not condition it, so it stayed porous and was able to absorb the colour pigments nicely.

On the left is my hair right after dying and on the right side the next day

I achieved exactly what I wanted and I'm still really happy with the outcome of it. I got a nice gradient and still have dark but also bright hair. Depending on the light Wrath is a bit more cool or just looks like a bright red.

Comparison of how my hair looks in daylight and in direct sun light

My hair changes colour depending on the light. It can look dark and cool, due to the colour I had before and it can get really bright and red in direct sunlight. Exactly what I wanted.

My opinion on it

I tested Arctic Fox Hair Color for a few month now and I even bought the same colours again. A month ago I finished the first bottles of the two colours. I tend to stretch them with hair conditioner to get nice and soft hair afterwards. Since I do not bleach the top of my hair I let it stay on for several hours for the pigments to get absorbed. I recommend to do that even on bleached hair, since it has the effect of a hair mask.
The colour is easy to apply and doesn't get messy. You should transfer it to a bowl before starting to dye your hair. It's so much easier to handle. If you spill or drip the colour all over the place, like I tend to do, don't be afraid your whole bathroom will be a mess after it. Just use cleaner and hot water to whip it off. It's as easy as it sounds.

Sure the colour gets more intensive and bright on bleached hair but I discovered for myself that it even works on dark hair as long as it is porous. I have to say that it even works on natural hair and natural dark hair since it coloures my roots pretty well. It get's a much lighter colour than the rest but still has nice light reflexes in the sun. I'd say if you want to go for a fun color but do not want to bleach your hair beforehand and you already have more or less light hair you can use Arctic Fox Hair Color, but keep in mind that it might not turn out as bright as on the promotional photos.
The colour stays really good in my hair, but I tend to wash my hair at maximum two times a week. I have pretty thick and long hair so that works really fine with me. Since I don't like to wash my hair with cold water I always do it with warm and the colour still stays in perfectly. Sure it bleeds out and fades with time but I tend to re-dye my hair only a couple of month. For me and in comparison with other brands the stay of the colour is really good.

Arctic Fox is a really good alternative for bright and fun hair. They carry a wide range of colours and ship world wide. You get what you pay for. If you have long and thick hair and want to dye your whole head definitively go for the 8fl oz, but even the 4fl oz can be used several times if stretched with conditioner.
